The rules for previews, websites, hosting and payments, in plain English. If anything here is unclear, ask us before you buy.
1.About these terms
These terms apply when you use Groportune’s services. Groportune is a trading name of Softgenix LTD, company number 16287677 (“we”, “us”). “You” means the business that asks for or buys our services.
Our services are for businesses, including sole traders. By paying for a website or plan, or by asking us to go ahead in writing (WhatsApp and email count), you agree to these terms.
2.Free website previews
A preview is a first version of a website, built from information about your business that is publicly available or that you sent us. It is free and you are under no obligation to buy anything.
Until you buy it, the preview design belongs to us. We may take it down at any time, and we will take it down within one working day if you ask. Please tell us if anything on it is wrong.
3.What you can buy
Website, one-off payment. £199 for a focused one-page website based on your preview, one round of changes, connection to your domain and 12 months of hosting. Hosting then costs £49 a year, renewing yearly unless you tell us to stop.
Website, pay monthly. £20 a month for the same website, with hosting and reasonable updates included for as long as you subscribe. There is a minimum term of 12 months; after that it continues month to month.
Larger websites, extra pages and other services are quoted separately before any work starts.
Prices are the total you pay. If VAT ever applies to our services, we will tell you before you agree.
4.Paying us
We take payments through GoCardless, by bank payment or Direct Debit. Payments appear on your statement as Softgenix LTD. We take the first payment before your website goes live.
If a payment fails, GoCardless may try again automatically and we will let you know. If a payment is more than 14 days overdue, we may pause your website (showing a simple page with your phone number) until it is paid, and switch it straight back on when it is. If a payment is more than 60 days overdue, we may end the agreement.
On the monthly plan, the payments for the rest of the minimum term remain due if you leave early, unless we agree otherwise in writing. As we work with businesses, we may claim interest and compensation on late payments under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
5.Cancelling
One-off website. You only pay once you have approved your preview, so the website fee is not refundable after it goes live. If we can’t deliver what we agreed, we will refund you. You can stop hosting renewal at any time before it renews.
Monthly plan. After the minimum term, cancel with 30 days’ notice by email or WhatsApp.
When hosting ends, we take the website offline. Your domain stays yours, and we will send you a copy of your website’s files if you ask within 30 days.
6.What we need from you
- Accurate information about your business, and quick answers to our questions.
- Only content you have the right to use: your own photos, logo and text, or material you have permission to use.
- Nothing unlawful or misleading on your website, including fake reviews, qualifications you don’t hold or claims you can’t back up. We may refuse to publish content like this.
7.Who owns what
Your business name, logo, photos and text stay yours. We register domains in your business’s name, or connect the domain you already own.
Once you have paid for a one-off website in full, the website design is yours to use. On the monthly plan you can use it while you subscribe, and it becomes yours once the minimum term is complete. The software, templates and tools we use to build and run websites remain ours.
We may show your website as an example of our work. If you would rather we didn’t, just say.
8.Hosting and results
We take reasonable care to keep your website online, secure and backed up, but we can’t promise it will never be unavailable, for example during maintenance or a provider outage.
Nobody controls Google’s rankings or what AI assistants say. We don’t guarantee positions, traffic or a number of enquiries, and we will always be honest about what changes.
9.Our responsibility to you
If we are responsible for a loss, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it happened. We are not responsible for loss of profit, business or opportunity, or for losses we could not reasonably have foreseen.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit.
10.Changes to prices and terms
We may change these terms or our prices. We will give customers at least 30 days’ notice of changes that affect them, and we won’t raise the price of a monthly plan during its minimum term.
11.Complaints and the law
If something isn’t right, tell us at hello@groportune.com or on WhatsApp (+44 7845 580266) and we will try to put it right quickly.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales deal with any dispute. How we handle personal information is explained in our privacy policy.
